What girl doesn’t like to borrow their boyfriend’s shirt and wear it for the day? This is exactly what I found the other day in Paddington. Those of you that follow me on twitter and facebook would have known that I was wandering the streets of Paddington in Sydney last Saturday. There are normally quite a few people about because of the Paddington Markets so it’s always good to do some street style spotting (remember of my old post “Market Day“?).
Well, the day wasn’t that fantastic as I was dodging the rain for most of it. The only good thing was the light was perfect for photographing.
Between the rain showers I spotted Carla. She was actually busy on her phone so I was hesitant to stop her. You know me by now…… no shame. I stopped her and with a short chat I had her behind the lens. She was so obliging.
Carla wears shirt and boots all vintage, shorts by Topshop, bag by Mimco, sunglasses by Ray Ban and fragrance by Narciso Rodriguez (pink bottle)
Normally when I see girls wearing the “boyfriend shirt” they wear it with a belt. You know….. to slim down the waist because of the bagginess of the shirt. Carla did it her own way and wore the shirt very loose with the sleeves rolled up to show a little skin. I also liked the craziness of the undone lace up boots.
So…… which of you have stolen your boyfriends, brothers or even your fathers shirt and made it into your statement piece?
I was hoping to find this look ever since spring started in Australia.
Thanks Carla, hope your friend didn’t get mad with me for making you hang up on them.
